In the middle of the pandemic we needed to relocate and find a new home. After a bunch of research and some unfortunate interactions with other home builders, we came across Atkinson Cottages. What a difference that made. When I first called, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jan Atkinson (went straight to the top). Not only did she provide a bunch of great information and advice that I had not considered, but she was also able to answer the seemingly endless list of questions that I had about Tiny Homes and the whole process from start to finish. She made the whole buying, financing, and delivery process seamless and a pleasure. Communication was quick, helpful, and proactive. And added benefit is their website has virtual walkthroughs for most of their models. Something other sites are lacking. This makes a huge difference when trying to find the right home layout.
In the end, what we thought we wanted was not what we ended up buying. We ended up with something MUCH better. I know if it were not for Jan and her team, we could have made a very costly mistake. There are so many things to consider and it really makes a difference to speak with people who truly understand the product. We have been in our new home for a few months now and love it. If anyone is looking for a Tiny Home, Park Model Home, or whatever you want to call them…this is the place to go.

Heidi did indeed find a local installer to complete the delivery and pier setup of our vacation home. I have attached some pictures of the installation. I’m not sure who was more nervous, me or the installation crew…
Thanks to Heidi, the home was installed just before Christmas, so we were able to have Christmas vacation with the piece of mind that our PMRV was safe and ready for us to complete utility installation after the holidays.
We can’t wait to spend our first night in our vacation getaway!

I will be brief and not take up too much of your time, but I wanted the “Powers to Be” at Atkinson’s Homes to know what a great experience we had with the purchase of our tiny house cottage. From the first phone call I made to inquire about the home, (had seen it on the lot in passing), I spoke with Mr. Don Dunn, who is awesome. He was very friendly on the phone, very helpful, answered all of my questions and NEVER made me feel like I was bothering him or taking up his time, and I had lots of questions. He was very professional and a true asset to your company. He told me to come look and he really believed he had exactly what I was looking for. So, we went over to the lot and this point I talked to Todd, who was just as helpful and professional as Mr. Don Dunn. This was on Tuesday, a deal was made on Friday, and that is when we meet Heidi, who is amazing. She knows her stuff and is more than professional and takes excellent care of the customer. We were extremely pleased with our purchase. This was during the rainy weather we were having in early February, so we knew we would have to wait until the weather was better to get the cabin delivered, and we were told that would not be a problem. Then we meet Mr. R.D. and his crew. Mr. R.D. called one Friday to see if we thought he could deliver the cabin and I told him “I was afraid to say, and he bring it over to Lay Lake and it be to wet and him get stuck, so he drove over and checked it out to make sure he would be able to get it in and set up. That is great customer service. This was not their first rodeo and they put it within a couple of inches of where we had staked off that we would like to have the cabin placed. They worked the entire time they were here and did an awesome job. Then we have the pleasure to meet Michael and Charlie, true gentlemen and they represented your company very well providing great customer service to make sure everything that needed repairing was done and done above and beyond what I expected them to do. Which was a pleasant surprise. They truly put customer satisfaction as their number ONE priority. I really appreciate the work they did.
Now we go back to Heidi and Mr. Don Dunn and Todd. Michael had told them the light on the porch was missing and Heidi was taking care of this. At the lot when we bought the cabin I noticed some black marks on the shower door, but thought it would come off when I cleaned the doors after they were hung. But there was no way I could get those marks off and I contacted Heidi about the marks, sent her pictures of the door with the marks on it. She got right on having the problem taken care of, and Sylacauga Glass, did a great job. Very pleasant to work with. I have stopped by the office on several occasions on my way to Alexander City to ask a question about something and every time I enter the office everyone is very friendly and the environment is very friendly and pleasant.
At this time, everything I have asked to be done has been done in a very timely, professional, and pleasant manner. As a past business owner and customer of many businesses when you encounter this many people, at some point you are usually going to have an experience that was not the best, this never happened from the first phone call to the time I walked out of the office on Thursday afternoon. I am a completely satisfied customer and will continue to tell everyone that stops to look at the cabin/cottage/little house, to drive to Atkinson’s Homes, it is worth the drive.
